Why do Cats bury their faeces(poops)?

Have you ever wondered why Cats bury their faeces(poops) even when other animals don't do so.
Personally I was entrilled when I observed a cat do so. It had to dig the ground and excrete its poops in there and covered it. I was just smilling after the whole episode.

Cats have a long history of covering their poops when ever they defecates basically because of two reasons.

Firstly, cats covers their poops to steer off other cats  from noticing they are in that particular vicinity.

Secondly, cats covers their poops in order to avoid other dominant cats from attacking them or pursuing them away from the area.

Although domestic cats cover their poops inorder to impress their owners, to show how clean they are but still in case there are dominants cats around.

If your cat does not cover its poops it means it never learned from the mother, or has a medical problem or it waste can is dirty.

In addition, wild cats do not cover their poops inorder to signal to other cats that they want to own the territory.
