22 Year Old Man Sentenced To 5 Months Imprisonment For Impersonation, Forfeit Samsung Galaxy S8


















A Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State on Thursday, March 4, 2021 convicted and sentenced one Wusu Taiwo Opeyemi to five months imprisonment for criminal impersonation.

The 22-year-old undergraduate, was arrested on October 14, 2020, and prosecuted on a one-count amended charge by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office, for fraudulently represented himself as one Jenny Smith, an American lady.

After please guilty to the charge read before him he was convicted by Justice Mohammed Abubakar.

He was sentenced to five months in prison. He is also to restitute the sum of $500USD (Five Hundred United States Dollars) to his victim, and forfeit his Samsung Galaxy S8 mobile phone to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

G7 Countries pledge to end fuel and diesel consumption by 2030

The group of G7 countries have agreed on a plan to end reliance on fuel and diesel-powered cars by 2030. As part of a comprehensive Green Belt and Road Initiative aimed at providing developing countries with billions of dollars in aids and investments required to curb carbon emissions, the G7 countries also see this initiative as an alternative to China’s belt and road initiative which China has promoted in Africa and developing countries.
