I'm hurt my mother didn’t see her great-grandchildren –Iyabo Ojo


Popular Nigerian actress, Iyabo Oyo says she is hurt that her mother did not live long to see her great grand children.

She is making this statement in response to a video that was circulating online, which she was heard telling her daughter Priscilla, that she wanted her to be engaged at 23 and get married at 24.

The video was met with criticisms while others agreed with her.

However in an Instagram live session monitored by Saturday Beats she said, "It is always a mother’s dream that their kids get married, settle down and have children. Trust me, this world we live in is vanity. Everything we have, we are going to leave behind. The only things that will remain are the children that we bore and the memories we had. Kids are a blessing, if one is blessed to have them. Every mother would love to see their grandchildren. I am still very hurt that my mother did not live long enough to see her great-grandchildren because it was my desire for her."

"I read some comments that I should not stress Priscilla. We, African mothers, stress children. We stress them to go to school, to pass their exams, and to become good. It does not mean they won’t turn out to be their own persons. It is a mother’s duty. A mother’s job is to be behind their children and keep pushing them to be better versions of themselves."

G7 Countries pledge to end fuel and diesel consumption by 2030

The group of G7 countries have agreed on a plan to end reliance on fuel and diesel-powered cars by 2030. As part of a comprehensive Green Belt and Road Initiative aimed at providing developing countries with billions of dollars in aids and investments required to curb carbon emissions, the G7 countries also see this initiative as an alternative to China’s belt and road initiative which China has promoted in Africa and developing countries.
