Kidnapping is a business and a means of survival says 20 year old kidnap suspect

Kidnapping has slowly become a business and a means of survival for some who have found it more profitable and rewarding than a paid job.

The same is the case for a 20 year old suspect, Ahmad Mohammed who narrated how he stays in Nigeria Expressways to kidnap his victims easily in order to make money.

While being paraded at Police Headquarters in Osogbo, Osun State, He said kidnapping is a business and a means of survival.

Narrating how they operate, he said he lives on the road and has no shelter. He continued by stating that he has gang members which are five - they are, Alhaji, Saidu, Sadiq, Buba, Siraju who are all Fulanis.

"My gang members are all Fulanis and are not new in the business, it is a means of survival. I don't have a shelter, I live along the Expressway. I live along the road to make operation ease."

He was however arrested by the police at Wasinmi, a village along Ife/Ibadan Expressway, after a fierce gun battle which made his gang members run away leaving him alone in the bush.

Ahmad Mohammed is from Tambuwal community in Sokoto State.
