FCT Minister bans Eid Prayers on open grounds

The Minister of the FCT, Malam Mohammed Bello has banned Eid prayers at the National Eid Prayer ground located along the Umaru Musa Yar'Adua Expressway.

The ban is coming following the restrictions of movement imposed by the FG due to Covid-19 on May 10th.

The Minister said that Eid Prayers can be done outdoors at premises of their neighboring juma'at mosques.

He also added that Eid Prayers can be done indoors provided the worshippers occupies 50% of the mosque capacity.

The Minister also restricted all other eid activities and celebrations to homes.

He concluded by advising that all Covid-19 protocols like hand washing, physical distancing and nose covering be observed.

G7 Countries pledge to end fuel and diesel consumption by 2030

The group of G7 countries have agreed on a plan to end reliance on fuel and diesel-powered cars by 2030. As part of a comprehensive Green Belt and Road Initiative aimed at providing developing countries with billions of dollars in aids and investments required to curb carbon emissions, the G7 countries also see this initiative as an alternative to China’s belt and road initiative which China has promoted in Africa and developing countries. According to a report published by the British Government, the G7 nations want to consent to a “nature Compact” that will “halt and reverse: biodiversity loss by 2030.
